What is Touch Screen? 

Touch screen is a electronic visual display which user can control the screen by touching.Only touch the surface of screen, screen work properly. 

Phone, laptop, touch is as like input device.

Invention of Touch Screen 

1. The first thought of touch screen was presented by E. A. Johnson in 1960.


2.  After many experiments later, In 1970 FrankBeck & Bent Stumpe launched Touch screen first time.

Types of Touch Screen 

Its many various types as like-


1. Infrared
2. Resistive
3. Capacitive
4. Surface Wave


In generally smartphone uses the Resistive & Capacitive technology. And other technology uses in computer & laptop, ATMs etc.

 
1. Resistive Touch screen


As we clear from his name that this try to prevent own touch when we press tightly we saw that touch screen has lightly bent.
In this screen two layers are found-


i. Resistive layer
ii. Conductive Layer


In between both of these small dots are present which seprate the layer.
In this Outer layer become very flexible which is made from polythene & inner layer become very hard which is made from glass. Which is connected by insulting nodes screen controller.
In this layer always current continously flow. When we touch on screen, resistive area pressed & connect with conductive layer.

On this conductive layer present electric current become change and it find the exact location that user where press the screen & this information sends to controller then we get output or result.

 
This resistive screen use in old smartphone as like - Micromax, Samsung etc...

 

** This technology was very slow.
 This technology uses in ATMs. Because it doesn't affect by the temperature because outer layer made from polythene.

2. Capacitive Touch screen

 
This screen doesn't use the electric current. This interact with such types materials which can store the charge. As like human body (It is a best conductor of electricity).
                            This outer layer made from glass and inner layer made from conductive material.



When we touch the screen a very small current generate on the screen where we touched. In panel fourth corner become connected with controller which measure the electric charge & search the touched area that user where touched. Capacitive touch screen doesn't work with insulators.
This is the most widely used technology with fast working.

This technology use in smartphones,laptop etc.
